MACH3 Polly!

On the first day of a 3 day trial Apollo got a double Q to earn his MACH3 title!  And then he went on to double Q the next two days too!  Boy, if I trialed more he probably would be up to MACH6 by now.  But if I trialed more, he probably wouldn't still be going strong at 8 1/2 years old.  That's pretty old for a boxer! :)

This means no more jumping 24" for Apollo; at our next trial he is entered in 20" Novice Preferred.  It's a bit sad because he's still doing so well jumping 24", but he doesn't need to be jumping that high anymore and I've heard rumors that AKC nationals might be on the west coast in 2012.  It sure would be cool to qualify Apollo for that, if it turns out to be true.  He'll be closing in on 10 years old at that point and might not be doing agility at all anymore, but that's what I thought a couple years about how he'd be doing at 8 years old and I was wrong then.  Apollo is full of surprises.

To celebrate his MACH3 I made Apollo a 3 rib standing roast!  He is not happy that he has to share :)

edit:  Icon was happy to share though.  As the rest of the dogs and I were hanging out on in the living room he snuck into the kitchen, grabbed the remaining roast of the counter onto the floor and started eating it.  Luckily I caught him soon after the roast hit the floor. I guess the remaining roast will be cut up into dog treats.  Well played, Icon  Well played.  You have everyone else on the planet thinking you're a 'perfect angel' but I know better now.
And what is prime rib without Yorkshire pudding?

Polly's dinner is plated.
Waiting, uhm, patiently for a release word to eat.

He started with the Yorkshire Pudding.  Weirdo :)

Rampage cleaned his bowl when Apollo moved on to the meat.  I love how well my boys get along :).

edit:  Apollo's MACH 3 run!  Thanks Sarah Beathard (nee Scott Dow) and, uhm, the other judge who I can't remember right now.

  1. Yay Polly!!! If it were up to me you wouldn't have had to share :)

  2. Congrats to Polly!
    And go Icon - LOL!

  3. Congrats to all concerned! That dang dog eats better than I do for big celebrations. I need to consider a change of careers (to become an agility dog).

  4. Congratulations on the MACh! That is one lucky dog! Looked delicious ;)

  5. What a wonderful video (& Din-din for Polly!).
CONGRATS!!! I wish Leda & I had been there to cheer him on. Here's to many more years of trialling Apollo!

  6. Congratulations again! That was such a beautiful run. ;-) I LOVE Yorkshire pudding, wish I could have had dinner with you! That looks YUMMY!
